Um…Om

What do four supposed strangers in a yoga studio have in common? In this immersive yoga play “Um…Om,” audience members will find out as they roll out a mat and flow with the actors. Whether it’s love, longing, or loneliness in New York City, Zaida, Emma, and Toby have all come to Taylor’s vinyasa class for different reasons. During their yoga practice, each character voices aloud their internal dialogue and steps off their mat to relive memories that surface. Open up your anahata heart chakra as you learn what connects these soul searchers to yoga and to each other. Whether you choose to move along or merely observe, you may just find a bit of yourself on the mat too.

S-T-I-T-C-H

Inside a dystopian world both recognizable and uncomfortably unfamiliar, three freshly graduated high school students are trying to take their next steps in life. Hormones, acceptance, sexuality, friendship, family, their futures -- amongst all these typical teenage problems, it becomes increasingly clear that they live in a society with a dark secret. A secret related to the mysterious ‘Fogzone’, the teams of ‘Spinners’, and the garish scars on everyone’s bodies. When Darren finds out the truth, his friends must deal with the fallout.

Sleeping Soldiers

Sleeping Soldiers explores what soldiers dream at night; not just soldiers in the field, but all those wielding the sharp point of the heart to fight for those they love. This play follows the stories of two “should-be” enemies, U.S. Lieutenant Jim and Afghan mother Zaytuna. Jim and his fellow soldier Diego are haunted by the deaths of their platoon members and the dread of their own demise. Zaytuna must fight against the war’s pillaging of her home, body, and family, including threats against her daughter Fawzia. In reality and in dreams, each side is lured into believing the other is the source of the conflict's evils. It is not until Jim and Zaytuna come face to face that they challenge their preconceptions and their shared fears.

Clique: A New Musical on Bullying

Between hormones, romance, college, and friendships, high school is hard. Transfer senior Hartley is trying to do the impossible for any teen: fit in without being seen. When she finds out her new school has a Pep Band however, she’s hopeful that maybe this year will be better. If she can jam on her saxophone with some like-minded musicians, she might survive this year and even make a friend or two. When Hartley’s quick wit clashes with the school’s football players’ high-and-mighty personalities, Hartley worries she might have to repeat the pain of the year before. Things only get worse when the jocks find out about Hartley’s past. Are music and Hartley’s new friends enough to get her through one more year, or is it all too much?
